* all courses follow the curriculum of the International Sail and
Power Association (I.S.P.A.)

- Seamanship Sail 1 / Power 1
- General Seamanship Endorsement
- Emergency Procedures Endorsement
The holder is certified as being competent
to act as crew while under the command of a
skipper on a sail or powerboat.
Navigational skills are specifically
excluded from this certificate.

- Seamanship Sail 2 / Power 2
- Collision Avoidance 1
- Basic Navigation
- Weather 1 - Introduction to Meteorology
The holder is certified as the skipper, to
be responsible for the safety of his/her
crew for day sailing/power only, in
daylight only, sailing/power in local
waters requiring only basic navigational
skills, in moderate wind and sea conditions.

| Coastal Navigation Certificate |
This certificate forms a major part of the
Coastal Skipper Certificate. It is intended
to be flexible and therefore can be taken
before, after, or as part of the Coastal
Skipper course.
The holder is certified to navigate through
coastal waters, within sight of land, by
day, using a hand bearing compass and
navigational aids.

1 book for home study. Some chart work will need to be completed and on water pratical done in Coastal Skipper course

Coastal Skipper Certificate
(This certificate is
generally recognized as the minimum
requirement to charter cruising vessels)

- Weather 2 - Coastal Meteorology

- Health and Safety
The holder is certified as the skipper, to
be responsible for the safety of his/her
vessel and crew, while cruising in a vessel
in coastal waters, where navigational
hazards exist, in daylight with good
visibility and with wind speed up to 25
knots.
